Media baron's Sun TV Network's shares fell in May after state elections resulted in a defeat for the political party led by his granduncle but have since recovered. Maran, who sold his controlling stake in budget airline SpiceJet last year, took the buyer to court for allegedly delaying the issue of warrants that he was supposed to get as part of the deal. The buyer said regulatory approval had not been received for issuing the warrants. Maran and his politician brother, Dayanidhi, are embroiled in a telecom corruption case being investigated by the Central Bureau of Investigation. The Marans have denied all charges. Despite these legal troubles, Sun TV is eyeing expansion; it tied up with U.S.-based YuppTV to launch its channels in West Asia and North Africa.
