Investors are likely to buy the India story as companies poised to have handsome earnings over the next year

Buy when the odds are in your favour. Investors who follow this rule do well more often than not.
As we settle into 2019, the chances of making money over a 2-3-year cycle are clearly in the favour of investors. As markets sell off on account of the election uncertainty, geopolitical tensions and a potential global growth slowdown, it doesn’t take away from the fact that Indian companies are poised to post a healthy increase in earnings over the next year. Our forthcoming story on equities urges investors to gradually step in and buy into the India story.
One area that has proved to be a bright spot for markets are ‘systematic investment plans’ where investors allocate a set portion periodically towards their long-term goals. Despite the fact that their investments have not delivered in the last year, they’ve so far stayed put. The risk-averse debt funds are a good place to park money in 2019, as yields are expected to remain steady.
