RIM's latest trick on the tablet format
BlackBerry has been trying very hard to break its corporate (read: Stodgy) brand image, pushing into the market devices like the Bold and the Storm, aimed at a younger, more lifestyle-oriented audience. But nothing that Research In Motion has done in the past can match its latest trick: The PlayBook.
A direct competitor of Apple’s iPad, it is the tablet to rule them all. Check out the basics: 7-inch 1024x600 pixel capacitive multi-touch screen, dual core 1GHz processor, 1GB of memory, a customised BlackBerry Tablet OS that promises to make mails, messaging, browsing and multimedia a piece of cake, 5MB rear camera, and 1080p HD support. All this plus enterprise-ready features.
We’re betting that suits in every boardroom will be casually pulling these out at meetings soon.
