Sunil Chhetri, 35, captains India's national football team as well as the Bengaluru FC professional football club. Chhetri started his footballing career with Mohun Bagan in 2002, and plays as a striker. His career has included stints overseas in the US and Portugal. Chhetri is the second highest active international goal scorer. He has helped India win the Nehru Cup in 2007, 2009 and 2012, and the SAFF Championship in 2011.
