Pro-democracy activists take part in a rally in Tokyo's Shinjuku district on June 12, 2021, to mark the second anniversary of the start of massive pro-democracy protests which roiled Hong Kong in 2019. The fear of facial recognition software used by the authorities to crack down on protestors was writ large among those gathered.
