This multifunctional assortment from Calligaris can be used as a stool, children’s armchair, low table or a modular book-base. The crosses on the plastic sides help stack them up neatly.

House Humour

The Comic Art of Guillermo Forchino, named after its Argentinean creator, is a collection of replicas of Forchino’s original works that are from the world of comic strips and cartoons. Originally working with bands of cloth, wax and paper maché, Forchino later moved to polyresins. The replicas—made in different sizes, some the same as the originals—make his work available to art lovers in many countries.

TECH
Loud Sound

When you’re on the road and in dire need of Led Zeppelin II to calm your nerves, tinny sound just won’t do. Logitech’s UE Mini Boom sets the standard for portable, minuscule-but-powerful Bluetooth speakers. Small enough to fit in your palm, it kicks out crisp sound that easily fills a hotel room. You don’t need a separate app or software. It puts out a surprising amount of bass, too.

Desktop, Transformed

What to call this crazy thing—a hypercomputer? A Frankentablet? HP calls it a “creative workstation” offering “blended reality”. It’s the new Sprout, and it’s the most interactive PC you’ve ever laid hands on. Literally: Both the 23-inch monitor and the 20-inch mat that takes the place of a standard keyboard are touchscreen; the mat is also a browser, a scanner, a desktop and whatever else you care to make it do. Hanging over the unit like an awning is the ‘HP Illuminator’, an LED desk lamp, projector and camera that offers instant capture of objects both 2D and 3D. If you have to be moored at your desk by a PC all day, Sprout is certainly the way to do it.
