Starting with an uprising against an unpopular extradition bill, Hong Kong’s public has taken to the streets in a widespread citizen movement, demanding better democratic freedom, investigation into police brutality, and the resignation of their chief executive, Carrie Lam. China for the first time has said that it can deploy People’s Liberation Army in Hong Kong to maintain the public order if city administration requested.
