Hello from Jaipur, the pink city. This blog, and the Forbes India Twitter stream (which you can follow alongside, in the right panel, if you're not a Twitter user) , will bring you updates from the sessions, photographs, and maybe a few interviews as well.

Later in the week, my colleagues Divya Subramaniam and Saumya Roy may be joining in, but for now you'll have to put up with me.

Posting proper will only start tomorrow. Meanwhile, you may want to wander around the Jaipur Literature Festival site; in particular, check out the impressive list of speakers, and the packed schedule. And if there's any particular event you want us to cover, leave a comment, and we'll try to get you a glimpse. Events run simultaneously, so I can't be at everything. As things stand, I definitely intend to be at the Keynote Address, by Girish Karnad, the panel on The Art of Criticism, with Andrew ‘O Hagan, Geoff Dyer, Amit Chaudhuri and Amitava Kumar, introduced by Nilanjana, S. Roy, and Tea time for the Traditionally Built, with Alexander McCall Smith, moderated by William Dalrymple. For the rest, it's difficult to choose, so I shall probably shuttle between them and decide on the fly.

And now, to bed. It's a packed five days ahead!
