The state government signs 2,560 investment agreements
Maharashtra has attracted investment proposals worth Rs 6.11 lakh crore in the run-up to and during the Make In India Week being held in Mumbai.
Apoorva Chandra, industries secretary in the Maharashtra state government, said on Monday that the state government had signed around 2,560 investment agreements with various Indian and global companies and these proposals, if they materialise, are likely to generate employment for 16.92 lakh people in the state.
Chandra said these investments should materialise over the next five years.
Some of the notable names that have agreed to step up investment in Maharashtra include Mahindra and Mahindra, Ferrero Rocher, Uttam Galva, and Anil Agarwal-led Twinstar Display Technologies.
