Elections 2019: Mumbai's first-time voters react to Modi's landslide victory

Hrithek Rane (19) is not surprised by the results as he has a lot of people around him who support BJP. He believes that the damage done by the Congress in past years cannot be undone in five years.

Sana Parika (19) is disappointed but not surprised. She is not a Congress supporter but doesn’t want to blindside “communal bigotry as strong leadership”.

Jaspritkaur Sandhu (20) thinks the results were predictable. She hopes the government will focus on real issues this time, and not be biased with regards to religion.

Sakshi Amin (19) is glad that young leaders such as Telangana’s YS Jaganmohan Reddy and Kerala’s Ramya Haridas will represent the country, saying that it shows that India is moving towards harnessing its youth power.

Nidhi Shah (20) is ecstatic that it’s ‘Modi Sarkar’ again. She thinks 'bold steps' such as GST, demonetisation, Swacchh Bharat Abhiyan and surgical strikes helped the party back in power. She hopes they do not make any fake promises.

Kruttika Shukla (18) is happy with the results and hopes that uncovered issues will be considered in this tenure. She believes that the government will do something about the unemployment rate and hopes India becomes a 'superpower'.

Smit Shah (20) believes that PM Narendra Modi is the right choice to lead the nation and could change the face of India.
